Drake released a reprise of “Child’s Play” from his 2016 album Views with help from Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown. The song’s name and lyrics have stirred up plenty of controversy on social media. In it, Drake raps, “I’m always on a wave like MJ / Difference is I’m waiting for her birthday / Nah nah JK / I ain’t into that kinda Child’s Play.”

The Toronto rapper has been accused of inappropriate conduct with underage girls, but Drake refutes those claims. When asked how he became close with Millie Bobby Brown, Drake responded, “stranger things have happened. I just sent her a DM on Instagram, and the rest is history.”

SPEOPLE reached out to Drake after the release of “Child’s Play (Reprise)” for a comment, and his PR representative Pedo Phil responded with a short statement: “Drake thoroughly enjoyed working with Millie Bobby Brown, and he hopes that she can help him with an upcoming collaborative project between OVO and Viagra.”

Fans have said that Drake is making fun of his haters, and there is no reason to suspect he would behave inappropriately around women, regardless of their age. However, the new song led to a wave of memes on social media along with heightened suspicion about Drake’s relationship with the actress.

For her part on the track, Millie Bobby Brown mostly gave ad-libs, and her short verse on “Child’s Play (Reprise)” has been difficult for American audiences to fully understand. In fact, some thought she used the f-slur. Twitter user @hotsauce.onmytts wrote, “Did MBB say f** on Child’s Play??”

Brown has since addressed the controversy around “Child’s Play” with a lengthy Instagram post. She wrote that she rapped “I hate the *fogs* in Hollywood” in reference to what she sees as the “fake nature” of her industry and apologized for any confusion that caused. As for her relationship with Drake, Millie wrote that he has been nothing but supportive and hinted at working with him in the near future, saying “@drizzy and I work very well together, and no matter what his next endeavor is, I hope I can help him get it up,” which seems to be a reference to Drake’s upcoming “collaborative project” with Viagra.

The actress’ young fanbase has been vocal in support with hashtags like “#MBBlovesgays” and “#DrakeDatesAdults.”
